The Abia State Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Prof Uche Ikonne, is dead. This was announced in a statement by his son, Dr Chikezie Uche-Ikonne, on Wednesday. The statement read, “I regret to announce the death of my dear father, Prof Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne, who died at the National Hospital Abuja today January 2023 25, by 4 am after a brief illness.

AVIATION WORKERS EMBARK ON AN INDEFINITE STRIKE OVER WELFARE ISSUES.

There is an ongoing major flight disruptions across many airports in Nigeria as the workers of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) led by the unions have embarked on an indefinite strike. The strike which commenced early today led to many airlines including foreign airlines being handled by the ground handling company experiencing flight disruptions. According to information made available to the Nigerian Tribune, many airlines could not operate their scheduled flights with many passengers billed for morning flights getting stranded with no workers of NAHCO in sight to handle their flights.

Trouble Back Again: Apostle Suleman, sues Halima Abubakar for N1bn; court case date revealed Clergyman, Apostle Johnson Suleman has made good use of his threat by suing controversial actress, Halima Abubakar for N1bn.  The clergyman had filed a lawsuit against the ailing actress over defamation. Recall that last year, Halima made headlines for weeks when she accused Apostle Suleman of having an affair with her.  The suit titled “DEFAMATORY STATEMENTS CONCERNING APOSTLE JOHNSON SULEMAN: NOTICE TO CEASE AND DESIST” was specifically addressed to Halima Abubakar over her outburst on social media regarding her past affairs with the man of God. Going forward with his lawsuit, WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the founder of Omega Fire Ministry is demanding N1billion in compensation from the actress.
